We were interested in the parallels between narcissism and todays' social media. Has social media turned us into narcissist?
The myth of Narcissus is about a man who was so in love with his own reflection, that it eventually killed him, this is where the term narcissism comes from. Narcissist feel superior to others, compromising for their own self-loathing. Todays' social media culture is all about this. We show the world how happy we are and get likes and comments in return. This doesn't truly make us happy, all it does create a desire for more attention and a need to keep up with all other "perfect" people.
